PE Curriculum

“To ensure all learners have positive experiences in PE, promoting a lifelong involvement in sport, exercise or physical activity.”

All students will gain the knowledge required to understand the positive impact physical education can have on their social, emotional and physical health. The PE curriculum is delivered through concepts that aim to develop skills that can be utilised in PE, in the wider school community and in students’ personal lives. All students have the chance to represent the many school teams and competitions throughout the year, as well as attending our vibrant school clubs for fun and enjoyment. We foster a culture of participation for all. Our students show a willingness to learn and are motivated to reach their potential.

Physical Education encourages pupils to be active and supports them in their understanding of how to participate safely and effectively. Our PE curriculum is inclusive to ensure that pupils of all abilities access the range of activities on offer and that they are physically active for sustained periods in order to encourage them to lead healthy, active lives. Regular participation in sport and physical activity can help to reduce the risk of health problems; improve physical fitness; help with weight management; promote good health; instil self- discipline; develop skill; improve self- confidence; reduce stress and develop lifelong learning skills.
