Curriculum
The core aim of the Plantsbrook Sixth Form 16-19 study programme is for each student to successfully complete :
- academic study – completing 3 linear A level/BTEC Level 3 qualifications
- enrichment activity – including work experience, volunteering, mentoring, student leaders, sporting activity and/or completion of additional qualifications such as The Cambridge Pre-U Global Perspectives Course.
- personal development – including a daily tutorial programme, regular assemblies, visiting speakers and careers advice and guidance.
Year 12 & 13
The school currently offers 31 Level 3 subjects at A level and BTEC. This currently includes the additional provision of the EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) course. All subjects receive up to 10 lessons per fortnight. Further details can be found in the sixth form prospectus.
* The A level curriculum offer is reviewed each year and the school may need to remove qualifications from offer that are not viable due to low student uptake. The decision to remove subjects from the curriculum offer will be made as early as possible in the Spring Term following the sixth form application deadline.
