Careers Week kicks off with bumper fair

More than 36 different colleges, universities, apprentice training providers and businesses will be part of a bumper Careers fair to kick off National Careers Week.

The event for Years 9-13 will take place in the main hall from P1 to P4, giving students an opportunity to discuss potential future careers with experts and potential future employers.

Those appearing include the RAF, the Royal Navy, the British Institute of Modern Music, the British Academy of Jewellery, The Belfry, construction company Bailey Garner and travel company TUI.

A host of universities from across the country will also be in attendance along with Walsall College and Birmingham Electrical Training.

Year 11 students will also have the opportunity to undergo mock interviews, whilst special assemblies will take place for all year groups across the week.

Careers Lead/Advisor Mrs Dullea says a lot of hard work has gone into creating events that will hopefully be a huge benefit moving forward:

“The careers fair is important to our students as its gives them the crucial exposure in front of external contacts to have those all-important Post 16 pathways. It also gives students the chance to investigate and gather information from colleges, universities, apprentice training providers and employers about different courses and jobs available to them and what’s required.”
