Work experience hosts needed for Year 12

We’re looking for businesses and employers to help find placements for Year 12 students to get valuable experience of life outside of school.

Around 165 students will spend a week away from Plantsbrook in June, getting first hand experience of industry and career opportunities.

If you know of anyone who can offer placements, especially within the following areas we’d love to hear from you.

  • Manufacturing / 3D printing
  • Accounts/Finance/Business
  • Law / Solicitors
  • Engineering / mechanical
  • Interior Design / Architecture
  • Medicine / Healthcare
  • Product Design
  • Real Estate / Estate Agents / Property

Careers Lead Sarah Dullea says it’s vital for the students to pick up new skills but having a Plantsbrook student on work experience can be of real benefit to employers too:

“Work experience is a great opportunity to learn about a job or an area of work, especially if it’s related to something they want to study further when they leave Plantsbrook or a career they want to go into straight from school.

We firmly believe it helps the students gain employability skills and use skills that they might not know they have, whilst developing new ones that will help them work better with other people now and in the future.

We know our students are motivated and willing learners and there’s a real benefit to businesses, companies and employers to be able to share their knowledge and expertise with the next generation.”
