Year 13 examination period set to begin

With the last day of standard lessons for Year 13 being Friday 10th May, here’s a reminder of some of the key information for the weeks ahead.

From Monday 13th to Tuesday 21st May the expectation will be that students continue to attend lessons as per their timetable, however they’ll be free to choose how best to revise in lessons and teachers will be there to support during this window.

The last day on which students will be expected to attend school as normal will be on Wednesday 22nd May which will also include a special ‘Leavers Assembly’ at 12 noon (full details will follow nearer the time), students will be allowed to come into school in non-uniform (not fancy dress) on this date.

From Monday 3rd June Year 13 will not be required to attend school unless they have an exam, however they are more than welcome to continue to attend school if they wish to self-study in the building. Tutors will continue to be in  form rooms each morning until Monday 24th June in case discussions as to how things are going during this period are needed.

Mr Legood, Head of Sixth Form, says support is available for anyone worried about the weeks ahead:

“Whilst it is natural for you to feel some pressure during exams, I know that this can be overwhelming for some. I have included a link below that you might wish to access if you become too stressed during exams.

Throughout this entire period please don’t hesitate to speak to me or anyone else in the Sixth Form Office if you need any support.

Finally, Prom tickets will go on sale in the near future, please keep the 5th July free and purchase a ticket when they are made available so that we can celebrate the end of exams and your Sixth Form journey with you.”
