Year 8 Boys win District Cup

Plantsbrook are Year 8 District Cup champions after a 5-3 win over Arthur Terry on Tuesday.

There were 4 different scorers in the convincing victory, that sets up a meeting with Kings Norton in the Birmingham Cup semi final, with the final of that competition to be played at Aston Villa’s Bodymoor Heath Training Ground

Year 8 Achievement Co-ordinator Mr Waple says everyone is immensely proud of the boys performance and hopeful there could still be more glory to come:

“It was a great achievement for the year 8 football team, they have worked so hard all year and produced a battling performance to beat a strong Arthur Terry team 5-3. I’m hoping they can now carry this on to win the Birmingham Cup.”

The year 8 team are not the only one’s who have excelled this season, with the Year 11 side narrowly beaten in their District Cup final this week, and the Year 7 team competing in a final next week.

It adds to a long list of sporting success from students across the year groups, look out for an upcoming newsletter to parents and carers celebrating them later this term.
