What is Arbor?
Arbor is our school MIS (Management Information System). It is the central hub for all pupil data and is the main way we communicate with families.
What is the Arbor Portal?
Both parents and pupils can access Arbor via the Parent or Student Portal: login.arbor.sc
This means accessing the Arbor desktop site rather than using an app. Usernames are parent / pupil email addresses. The portals display attendance information, behaviour points, a timetable calendar and all homework assignments. Via the Parent / Pupil Portal, homework attachments can be downloaded and assignments can be submitted. It is not currently possible to download attachments or submit assignments from the Arbor Apps.
Why have we decided to use Arbor to set homework?
Arbor is linked directly to pupil timetables and teachers use it every lesson. We hope that staff, parent and pupil use of only one portal for most school-based communication will ensure important homework reminders aren’t missed.
Is there a Parent App?

What are the benefits of using Arbor?
- Arbor displays a daily calendar, attendance and behaviour data and a summary of homework assignments with any relevant deadlines and attachments.
- Arbor is personalised and will help pupils with their daily organisation.
- All homework assignments are accessible from home with links to other online platforms.
- Many parents are already familiar with the Parent App and can also view homework assignments.
How can assignments be submitted?
When pupils open an assignment that can be submitted, they should have the option to hit the green “mark as submitted” icon. There is no need to upload any work. Their teacher may have given them specific submission details.
Why do some assignments show as overdue?
Some teachers have set homework to link to an Arbor mark book. Teachers have been asked to complete mark books for overdue assignments and delete any tasks that are showing as overdue.
What do I do if login details do not work?
Pupils should be able to access Arbor via their Gmail plantsbrooklearning.org.uk account. They can send themselves a password reset link to this email address. If this does not work, you/they should inform their Form Tutor.
What support has been offered in school?
Form Tutors have demonstrated the features of Arbor during tutorial.. Technical clinics for login issues took place last half term. If pupils still require support, they can talk to their Form Tutor, Miss Hancox or the IT support team.
What other homework platforms are used?
We use a range of other online homework platforms that pupils might be instructed to access for homework completion. This includes:

- Dr Frost
- Bedrock Learning
- Tassomai
- Seneca
- Active Learn
Teachers will notify pupils via Arbor that they need to complete homework on other homework sites. Homework guides to these sites will be published soon.
